Who makes it
Works Cited Maker is an independent small website. It is not connected to any university, publisher or style organization, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Modern Language Association or the American Psychological Association.
Method
- Each style is a fixed template for four source types: book, journal article, webpage and book chapter.
- The templates are written from the official guides listed below and checked against their published examples. For Chicago, the test entries are the sample citations on the Chicago Manual of Style Online.
- The generator formats what you type. It does not look up sources, so it cannot catch a wrong year or a misspelled name.
Sources
- Harvard: there is no single official manual. The template follows the common UK author-date pattern; your university’s guide comes first.
